You Tube Screening Room Update

The YouTube Screening Room sponsored a lounge at the LA Film Festival June 25, 2008. Clips from the lounge include discussion of topics such as 'music rights for film in the digital age' and live music performances by Matt Hires, The Willowz, Scissors for Lefty, and Honey Honey. The channel features four short films every other Friday.

All past featured films as well as the lounge clips are available now in the archive at the bottom of the page at http://youtube.com/ytscreeningroom. The latest shorts include an animated story about the life of Ryan Larkin (famous animator in the 60's).

Also, of interest to filmmakers is this clip from Moby with description:

"The innovative club musician Moby played punk rock and speed metal before he gained fame in the rave scene with the 1991 dance single "Go." Throughout the past fifteen years, Moby remixed tracks, scored movies, produced other artists and made his own recordings. His latest project, Moby Gratis, is geared towards providing license-free music to filmmakers. http://www.mobygratis.com"

June features include Lost in Translation, The Three Stooges Collection 1934-1936, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Nova, Bring It On, Angel, Raising Arizona, ALF, Highlander, Classic War Movies (Collection), and Lost Highway.

So far in July, the available programs are Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, Men In Black, Jerry Maguire, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Ghostbusters, The Dresden Files, Underworld: Evolution, The Fifth Element, Casino Royale (1967), and The Fall Guy.

The Middleman Episode 3 - table read

The Middleman Episode 3 : The Sino-Mexican Revelation - table read
"SPOILER ALERT! Here's something new -- a video of 'The Middleman' cast reading the full script of episode 3, 'The Sino-Mexican Revelation.'"

Full Episodes of "The Middleman" are available on ABC Family.com, with new episodes appearing sometime after the broadcast each Monday 10/9c

One side note for Middleman fans, in Behind The Scenes Javi-Cast: Week 3, the show's creator/executive producer announced that they will be at Comic-Con in San Diego.

I also found this clip on YouTube of an ABC Family promo about the comic-book origin of the show:

The Middleman: From Script to Comic and Back Again
"Explore the Middleman's comic-book roots with show creator, Javier Grillo-Marxuach. And check out ABC Family for more action from the super-secret group that 'Fights evil, so you don't have to.'"
